You've always wanted two or more cats. You've done your homework and introduced them slowly, but unfortunately, they just cannot accept one another.
The Easy Option - Pheromones
If your cats are bickering, or if you're struggling with difficult behaviour such as urine marking or scratching furniture, it might be worth trying a pheromone diffuser.
Pheromones are a type of chemical communication which all cats use to communicate with each other and the world around them. They are released from special glands around their bodies.
This product mimics the natural pheromones that send calming messages to cats.

It's a diffuser and plugs into a UK socket.

Cats and their Territory
Being such territorial creatures, cats don't always share their home environment very well. Problems may occur in areas when both cats want to share the same space. We can help this by creating ways for them to share the same space. Here are some examples of how to create safe passing spaces for your cats.

By placing shelves in the areas where your cats don't get along, possibly the narrow areas such as doorways and stairs, or favorite places such as warm areas and window sills, it creates a safe place for both cats to be without fighting over the spot.
There are lots of examples of DIY cat shelves on google. All you need for a single shelf is a piece of wood, two brackets, two screws and two plugs. You also need either a drill, a spirit level and a pencil or someone handy who can help.

Some of the ideas on google are quite elaborate and fun. You can help to solve a scratching problem, by fixing carpet to the shelves. There are a few Ikea hacks about too.
There are a lot of fabulous cat shelf kits on the market. These are my favorites.

Concrete walls are very difficult to drill. Another option is to use some of the window shelves instead.
